In Honor of Randy Arledge's Exoneration

As a legal intern, I had the honor of witnessing how the IP impacts the lives of individuals who have been wrongfully convicted. I started last May not knowing that I would be given the opportunity to meet one of my clients the day he would be declared an INNOCENT man. It was an experience that is beyond words... not only for him and his family, but for myself and those I have had the pleasure to work with. His faith in the organization has encouraged me to bike in his honor! Even if you can only donate $5, it can change someone's life by giving them a second chance... It changed mine and it gave Randy his second chance after 32 years of being wrongfully incarcerated. This one is for you, Randy!

Why I'm Biking for the Innocence Project

The Innocence Project provides pro-bono post-conviction legal assistance to prisoners that are seeking to prove their innocence with DNA testing and works to enact the reforms needed to protect innocent Americans from wrongful prosecution and incarceration. To date, more than 300 people have been freed by DNA testing, including eighteen who served time on death row. To learn more, please visit www.innocenceproject.org.

About the TD Five Boro Bike Tour

Held annually the first Sunday in May, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour is America’s largest cycling event - a 40 mile, car-free ride for 32,000 cyclists. Starting just north of Battery Park, the tour runs up Manhattan, through Central Park, around a brief loop in the Bronx and down to the Queensboro Bridge passing countless New York City icons on the way.  After a ride over the Pulaski bridge passing through Brooklyn, riders enjoy an incredible view from the lower deck of the Verrazano Bridge.  The tour ends on Staten Island with an outdoor Festival.
